Teaching Statement:
As a full-time professional musician currently majoring in Sociology at Columbia University, I strive to be an example for my students of how school and music can be simultaneously balanced, and show them how they can grow as a musician alongside any other interests they have.
I seek to provide students with a relaxed and efficient path towards their musical goals. Whether they want to play in the school concert band, jam with rock bands on weekends, or eventually tour with a professional group, I will customize a curriculum for their individual needs, so they can comfortably work towards their goals at their own pace.
Drum Lesson Content
Lessons will be custom catered to the student's needs and personal preferences. I’ve devoted myself to studying the individual histories of jazz, funk, rock, hip hop, jazz fusion, and r&b drumming, so any of those genres can be covered.

Pushing myself to step up to a high musical level over a short span of time has led me to break down the music learning process to its smallest possible steps. Asking dozens of world-class drummers every question I could think of eventually led me to reach some fundamental pillars of learning and practicing.
As soon as I digested these concepts and applied them in my practice, all of the common setbacks that had previously stunted my growth went away. I immediately started improving at a consistent and accelerated pace.

I have studied extensively with legendary drummers Corey Fonville and Billy Drummond. Aditionally, I have been taught by Jimmy Cobb, Kenny Washington, Jeremy Dutton, Kweku Sumbry, Michael Ode, Joe Saylor, Mike Clark, Kyle Poole, Vince Cherico, Abe Fogle, Joe Farnsworth, and Craig Weinrib. I learned vitally important lessons from each of these established drummers and aim to pass on the information to my own students.
